From Season 1 of The West Wing, Sam Seaborn talking about the importance of privacy, and how it’s going to be the “next big issue.” This is from 12 years ago, and I’m always surprised and amazed at how prescient this show was on so many issues.

If I read even one more “if you don’t like what Google is doing with your info, don’t give them any/don’t use their stuff” posts, my eyeballs will dislocate from over-rolling. How astoundingly short-sighted and willfully ignorant.
Good Christ, no one should ever underestimate how technological innovations encroach on our privacy and other civil liberties.
